A Kodansha e a Flag Pictures anunciaram nesta segunda-feira que a obra manga de Akane Shimizu, Cells at Work! (Hataraku Saibō) irá inspirar uma adaptação a filme live-action. Hideki Takeuchi (live-action Nodame Cantabile, Thermae Romae, Fly Me to Saitama) irá dirigir o filme e o guião será da responsabilidade de Yūichi Tokunaga (live-action Kaguya-sama: Love is War, Liar x Liar, Princess Jellyfish).
Cells at Work! terá Filme Live Action
Shimizu lançou o manga original Cells at Work! em Março de 2015, na revista Monthly Shonen Sirius, da Kodansha, e terminou em Janeiro de 2021. A Kodansha USA Publishing encontra-se a publicar o manga em inglês.
O manga já inspirou várias séries spinoff tais como: Hataraku Saikin (Bacteria at Work), Hatarakanai Saibō (Cells That Don’t Work), Hataraku Saibō Black (Cells at Work! Code Black), Hataraku Saibō Friend, Hataraku Kesshōban-chan (Platelets at Work), Hataraku Saibō Baby (Cells at Work! Baby) e Hataraku Saibō Lady (Cells at Work! Lady).
