A Kodansha Comics anunciou na Comic Con International, em San Diego, que tem planeado o lançamento de uma Deluxe Edition da manga de Ghost in the Shell, de Ghost in the Shell 1.5 e de Ghost in the Shell 2 – todas pertencentes ao mangaka Masamune Shirow. O lançamento desta nova edição irá coincidir com a data de estreia da adaptação live-action, que irá acontecer a 31 de março de 2017.
Este novo lançamento da Kodansha Comics irá marcar a primeira vez que um lançamento ocidental em inglês será editado com a leitura da direita para a esquerda, e que a versão original dos efeitos sonoros japoneses será mantida.
